The ShelfAware Chrome Extension: A Full Walkthrough

The ShelfAware website works by pasting in a product URL. The extension skips that step: browse to a product page on any supported retailer's own site with the extension installed, and it checks nearby stock and price drops for that exact product in the background automatically.

Install it from the Chrome Web Store, then click the extension icon once on any supported retailer's site to set your location the first time. Your postal code is remembered locally in the browser for up to 24 hours, so it's only asked for again once that window expires, not on every page you visit.

• Click the icon on a product page. A small overlay opens with the same live per-store price and stock results the full site would show.
• Jump to the full site when you need more. Selecting a result or setting a price alert deep-links into shelfaware.ca with the retailer, product, and location already filled in, so nothing has to be re-entered.
• It only acts on what you're viewing.The extension doesn't track browsing history or send it anywhere; it reads the product page you're currently on and nothing else.
